One of my sons asked me to make him a beer flight set. While this isn’t something I’m planning on adding to my repertoire, I liked the challenge and of course, it was my son asking…
So I spent a bit of time thinking through what would work and ultimately decided to slab build the tray and throw the mugs on the wheel.

The cups needed some way to be stabilized on the tray, so I threw an extra cylinder and cut it into rings at the base of the tray that the cups would sit in. I’m not sure I got the shrinkage completely right and there’s a good chance the tray will crack in the kiln. (Large flat items are the worst!).
If I have to, I’ll remake the tray. I quite like the simplicity of the cups.
