Shipping Information

Shipping breakables is a PITA. And ceramics tend to be heavy.

What that means is I tend to send USPS priority mail or UPS ground whenever possible as the shipping includes insurance* and is usually cheaper than cheaper postage + purchasing insurance.

If you are interested in an item or items and want an exact shipping quote, please fill out the contact form and include your mailing address. You may also add items to your shopping cart and submit it – I will send you a full invoice including shipping for your approval before completing your order and billing.

Some rough shipping estimates:

Items weighing less than 1 lb (including box), such as a small mug, cost approx $6. to ship to most zip codes in the continental US.

Items that fit in a medium USPS box (11.25″ x 8.75″ x 6″) such as several mugs/small bowls ship for a flat fee of $13.00

Items that fit in a large USPS box (12.25″ x 12.25″ x 6″) such as plates and platters can ship for a flat fee of $18.00

Items that don’t fit into flat rate boxes, weighing up to approx 3 lbs (including box) cost approximately $9 to ship to most zip codes in the continental US.

New: Recyclable shipping materials

I have moved to using paper-based shipping materials, both for wrapping items and for ‘void fill’. Hexcel wrap is 100% recyclable and sustainably made. I also try to reuse any shipping boxes and materials that come our way. There may be some plastic bubble wrap in some packages that I send – rest assured that it is not material I have purchased, but is being reused from items sent to me.

I am also sensitive to shipping prices and only charge what my shipping prices are: I do not add any materials or handling fees.

*If something arrives broken, please contact me immediately and include photos of the broken item and the box it came it. I will assist in making an insurance claim and will replace or refund the item as you prefer. In order to make a claim, most shippers will ask to examine the item and packaging, so please do not throw anything away until the claim is filed. I apologize for any inconvenience this may pose, but it is the requirement of the shipper.
