Inspired by Japanese tea* mugs, I created these cups to be simple and elegant. Wheel thrown, from speckled stoneware, they are subtly altered with texture added after trimming. They are then glazed with complementary turquoise glazes: glossy for the inside, matte for the outside. The glossy turquoise is foodsafe & won't stain from caffeine. The matte is smooth in the hand. Where the glazes overlap at the top creates a comfortable surface for the lip to rest against.

*You are definitely allowed to drink coffee, cocoa, hot cider, or even cold drinks from these cups! Tea is not required.
